CARTA DEL SUICIDA

Juro que esta mujer me ha partido los sesos,
Por que ella sale y entra como una bala loca,
Y abre mis parietales y nunca cicatriza,
Así sople el verano o el invierno,
Así viva feliz sentado sobre el triunfo
Y el estomago lleno, como un cóndor saciado,
Así padezca el látigo del hambre, así me acueste
O me levante, y me hunda de cabeza en el día
Como una piedra bajo la corriente cambiante.
Así toque mi cítara para engañarme, así
Se habrá una puerta y entren diez mujeres desnudas,
Marcadas sus espaldas con mi letra, y se arrojen
Unas sobre otras hasta consumirse.
Juro que ella perdura porque ella sale y entra
Como una bala loca,
Me sigue a donde voy y me sirve de hada.
me besa con lujuria
tratando de escaparse de la muerte,
y, cuando caigo al sueño, se hospeda en mi columna
vertebral, y me grita pidiéndome socorro,
me arrebata a los cielos, como un cóndor sin madre
empollado en la muerte.

ΜΙΑ ΠΑΡΑΣΚΕΥΗ

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

Five o’clock
Is wake up time,
Time to peel away
The leech-like rags
Of blanket
That suck away the warmth
All night –
Time to drink cold water
And fear the breaking dawn.

At six o’clock
We board the bus
And journey
To Pilate’s gates.

Seven is time to be counted,
And owned;
Time to head the warning Sjamboek.

And at mid-gut hour
When the managers lunch
And wine,
We blow our noses
Bare hands
Beneath the scaffolding,
Soothe the bruised scars
And wipe the hate
From our brow.

At five o’clock
We return to Gethsemane;
For this crucifixion
Is never completed,
Lest no more gold flows
From the graves at Golgotha.
